Fight at Punxsutawney Area School Leads to Simple Assault Charges

Police car lightsPUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney Borough Police were called to the Punxsutawney Area High School for a report of a fight.

According to police, a 16-year-old male student went up to a 14-year-old male student and allegedly punched him in the side of his head.

A teacher escorted the 16-year-old student to the office, and while walking past the lockers, the 16-year-old student punched the locker out of anger, according to police.

Both students were treated and released from the Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

Police say the 16-year-old student was disciplined by the school and will be facing Simple Assault charges through the Jefferson County Juvenile Probation Department.
