Shots Fired During Dispute in Punxsy; Suspect Allegedly Threatens to Kill Man

Dollarphotoclub_82727497-1024x631[1]PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. (EYT) – Authorities say a Jefferson County man is facing multiple charges after allegedly firing shots during a confrontation Friday in Punxsutawney.

Around 5:40 p.m., Punxsutawney Borough Police received a report of a 19-year-old male who stated a man discharged a gun during a dispute on Orvetta Street.

According to police, Anthony Brown, of Punxsutawney, approached the victim and a verbal confrontation ensued.

During the course of the confrontation Brown allegedly retrieved a Ruger .22 caliber semi-automatic pistol from his vehicle.

Brown allegedly pointed the firearm at the 19-year-old male and threatened to kill him before discharging the firearm into the air.

Police say a witness who lives near the scene confirmed that Brown pointed a gun at another male and threatened him. The witness also reports hearing a gun shot.

Officers subsequently apprehended Brown and recovered the firearm allegedly used in the incident.

Police say the following charges were filed against Brown:

– Recklessly Endangering Another Person,
– Simple Assault
– Terroristic Threats
– Harassment
– Disorderly Conduct

Brown was lodged in the Jefferson County Jail.
