Police: Punxsy Woman Flees Scene of Smicksburg Crash

Police sirenSMICKSBURG, Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police are investigating a recent hit-and-run crash that occurred in Smicksburg Borough, Indiana County.

Police say the accident happened on August 2 around 7:55 p.m.

According to police, Summer Devaughn, 20, of Punxsutawney, was traveling south on SR-954 when she failed to negotiate a left turn, causing her 1999 Chevrolet Sierra to exit the right side of the roadway.

Devaughn’s vehicle collided with a “boulder” before coming to a rest on the west side of the roadway.

Police say Devaughn fled the scene on foot following the crash.

She suffered minor injuries; however, she refused medical treatment.

Devaughn’s vehicle sustained disabling damage.

She was issued a traffic citations. Additional charges are pending, according to police.
