Authorities Say Arson Determined to Be Cause of Fire with $100,000 Damages

police_line_11SYKESVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – The State Police Fire Marshall in DuBois and National Fuel Gas Company determined arson was the origin of a fire in Sykesville, Jefferson County.

Police report the fire, which damaged an odorizer station, took place at around 9:01 p.m. on June 14 along Stanley Bottom Road.

Damage is estimated at $100,000.00. No injuries were reported and natural gas service was not disrupted.

Police later reported the cause has been determined to be the result of arson.

Unknown actor(s) forced entry to the building and ignited a fire in a control panel box.
