One Injured in Two Vehicle Young Township Crash

car-accident-graphic-5254_jpg_475x310_q85-300x225YOUNG TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police say an accident occurred on Sportsburg Road in Young Township, Jefferson County.

Police say this crash occurred on June 6 at 3:11 p.m. as 60-year-old Debra Wolfe, of Punxsutawney, was travelling west and was negotiating a right hand curve in her 2013 Subaru Forester.

Police say that the vehicle crossed over the center line and struck a 2002 Hyundai Accent driven by 22-year-old Eric L Chitester, of Reynoldsville.

Wolfe’s vehicle traveled approximately 105 feet before coming to a controlled stop in the eastbound lane facing west.

Chitester’s vehicle was pushed into the guard rail and traveled approximately 30 feet before coming to final rest facing east.

Police say Chitester was wearing a seat belt but sustained minor injuries in the accident and was not transported from the scene.

Wolfe was not injured in the crash and was not wearing a seat belt, according to police.

Police say Wolfe will be charged with a traffic violation.
