Van Namee, a 2011 Punxsutawney Area High School graduate, earned an associate degree in information technology and was presented the Caliguiri award at the Summer 2019 PTC commencement ceremony at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall in Pittsburgh.

“This award exists to distinguish individuals that have demonstrated success in academics, perseverance, professionalism and leadership during their education at PTC,” said Christine Ioli, Alumni Coordinator for PTC. “The honorees should take great pride that their faculty has chosen them as models of exemplary students.”

Following graduation, Van Namee will be working as a robot operations center technician.

The Richard S. Caliguiri Award was created in 1981 to recognize both academic achievement, personal achievement, and perseverance. It is named in honor of PTC graduate Richard Caliguiri, former mayor of Pittsburgh. The PTC Caliguiri Society now boasts 869 members.

Pittsburgh Technical College has provided career-focused education to Western Pennsylvania and surrounding states since 1946.

Pittsburgh Technical College is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE), an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
