Punxsutawney Baseball Tops DuBois


DUBOIS, Pa. (D9Sports) – Tyler Richardson drove in five runs to lead visiting Punxsutawney to a 7-4 win over DuBois at Showers Field Wednesday.

Richardson was 2-for-4 on the day with a double and a triple while also scoring a run.

Brandon Matthews added two hits, including a double, and two RBIs for the Chucks, who used four pitchers in the win.

Isaac Stouffer got the win in relief of Logan Johnston. Stouffer went 2 1/3 innings allowing two runs on two hits and two walks while striking out one. Johnston went three innings allowing two runs, one earned, on a hit and three walks while striking out four. Richardson then pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up two hits and a walk while striking out one before Matthews picked up the save going a scoreless inning with two walks and a strikeout.
