Punxsutawney Borough Makes Holiday Plans

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. (EYT) — With the holidays right around the corner, there are many events planned in Punxsutawney Borough.

Things kick off Thanksgiving weekend with the Home for the Holidays parade, sponsored by the Eagles Club, Saturday, Nov. 26.

It will begin at 6 p.m. Fireworks begin at about 7, then Light Up Night at 7:15 p.m. in Barclay Square.

Friday, Nov. 25 is also the beginning of free parking in Punxsy.

Borough council approved both requests from the Punxsy Chamber of Commerce at Tuesday night’s meeting.

Also, Mistletoe Madness is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 26. It runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be craft booths, artisans, wine tasting, music, a holiday photo booth, food vendors and specials at local shops and stores.

The Rotary Club will also use the bandstand in Barclay Square to place the Christmas tree during the Home for the Holiday Celebration.
