Punxsutawney Man Accused of Retail Theft, Jailed on Probation Violation

state_policePUNXSUTAWNEY BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) – Police say a retail theft occurred yesterday at Rite Aid in Punxsutawney, Jefferson County.

According to Punxsutawney Borough Police, on December 28, a known, Punxsutawney man attempted to steal a bottle of Niacin vitamins by placing them in his pocket.

Police say the suspect was stopped by a store employee before he left the store.

It was discovered that the known man was on probation through Jefferson County Probation. and he was released to probation officials.

The known man was remanded to the Jefferson County Jail for a probation violation.

Charges were filed against him for a summary citation of Retail Theft in Judge Chambers’ office.
