Punxsy Man Accused in Statutory Sexual Assault of Underage Girl

YOUNG TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A Punxsutawney man is facing felony charges for statutory sexual assault and related offenses stemming from an incident that allegedly occurred in Young Township, Jefferson County.

According to court documents, Punxsutawney-based State Police filed charges against 20-year-old Seth D. Yezierski of Punxsutawney.

According to a criminal complaint, on November 16, 2015, Trooper Julie Clark, of Punxsutawney-based State Police, was assigned to investigate a sexual assault that occurred in Young Township, Jefferson County.

The complaint indicates that around 2:20 p.m. on November 21, Trooper Clark interviewed a female juvenile at PSP Punxsutawney station who allegedly stated she had consensual sex with Seth Daniel Yezierski at her residence between August and September of 2015. The female juvenile is pregnant and Yezierski is allegedly the father of the baby.

On November 22, around 9:51 p.m., Officer Clark advised Yezierski of the PA State Police Notification of Non-Arrest Form. He acknowledged the notification and agreed to speak to her. He allegedly said that he did have consensual sex with the female juvenile. He allegedly stated that he found out in either late September or early October of 2015 that she is pregnant, and he is the father, the complaint continues.

Based on the facts discovered during her investigation, Officer Clark requested a criminal complaint issued against Yezierski.

He was arraigned at 10:00 a.m. on January 7 in front of Magisterial District Judge Douglas Robert Chambers and faces the following charges:

• Statutory Sexual Assault: 4-8 Years Older, Felony 2
• Corruption Of Minors – Defendant Age 18 or Above, Felony 3
• Indecent Assault Person Less 16 Yrs Age, Misdemeanor 2

Bail was set at $25,000.00 unsecured.

A preliminary hearing is set for 1:30 p.m. on February 2 with Judge Chambers presiding.
