Punxsutawney Man Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on Route 119

YOUNG TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, around 5:45 p.m. on December 15, a two-vehicle accident occurred on State Route 119 (Buffalo-Pittsburgh Highway), at its intersection with Alliance Drive, in Young Township, Jefferson County.

Police say 85-year-old Dominic Delrosso, Jr., of Punxsutawney, and 27-year-old David R. Swatsworth, of Clearfield, were involved in the collision.

Police say Delrosso was traveling north on SR 119 and failed to stop prior to reaching a stopped vehicle in his lane operated by Swatsworth.

Swatsworth was stopped in the northbound lane of travel, waiting for a green light.

Delrosso’s 2006 Ford Freestar struck Swatsworth’s 2014 Chevrolet Silverado in the rear at approximately the 7 o’clock position.

Punxsutawney EMS transported Delrosso to the Punxsutawney Hospital for treatment of injuries of unknown severity. He was using a seat belt.

Swatsworth was using a seat belt and was not injured.

Delrosso was charged with “Following too Closely.”

The Ford Freestar was towed from the scene by Southside Towing.

Punxsutawney EMS and Fire Department assisted at the scene.
