state_policeYOUNG TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, around 3:29 p.m. on August 8, a two-vehicle crash occurred in the Walmart parking lot in Young Township, Jefferson County.

Police say the crash occurred as Linda A. Johnston, 70, of Punxsutawney, was backing up a 1999 Lincoln Continental from a parked position in a parking stall at Walmart.

The vehicle struck a 2010 Hyundai Elantra in the left rear portion of the vehicle, according to police.

Johnston allegedly fled the scene and as later identified, police say.

Charges are pending at District Court 54-03-01, and online court documents indicate Johnston has been charged with a summary offense – failing to follow a duty to give information and render aid.
