Punxsutawney Woman Identified as Victim of Fatal Crash Near DuBois

SANDY TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A Punxsutawney woman has been identified as the victim in a fatal crash that occurred in Sandy Township, Clearfield County, on Tuesday.

Katrina Latta, 55, of Punxsutawney, has been identified as the victim of a fatal crash that occurred on January 26 on South Main Street Extension.

Sandy Township Police say the crash occurred when a known 73-year-old Punxsutawney woman was operating a vehicle traveling on South Main Street Extension and lost control due to the icy road conditions.

According to police, the vehicle then traveled off the side of the road and landed on its side, trapping the driver and her passenger in the vehicle.

The passenger, later identified as Katrina Latta, did not survive the crash.

The driver was transported to Penn Highlands DuBois for treatment of minor injuries.

The vehicle was towed from the scene.
