GASKILL TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police say around 11:08 a.m. on March 4, a Punxsutawney woman suffered major injuries following an accident that occurred on Mill Road, 869 feet south of Pleasant Grove Drive, in Gaskill Township, Jefferson County.
According to police, 47-year-old Lorrie A. Wachob, of Punxsutawney, was traveling southbound along Mill Road and lost control of her 1996 Chevrolet Blazer.
Police say the vehicle traveled off the roadway and into the west ditch of Mill Road.
Upon EMS arrival, the vehicle was found with its tires turning in a forward direction. Wachob was found unresponsive, according to police.
Jefferson County Ambulance transported her to Punxsutawney Area Hospital for further evaluations.
It was determined that Wachob had a medical emergency (heart attack or stroke) prior to the crash, police say.
She was using a seat belt.
The investigation continues.
