Court documents indicate the Punxsutawney-based State Police filed criminal charges against 34-year-old Joshua David Rebuck and 27-year-old Grayce Elynne Sutter.
According to a criminal complaint, around 8:00 a.m. on May 21, Punxsutawney-based State Police were dispatched to assist Jefferson County Children, and Youth Services (CYS) with an investigation into a report of suspected child abuse after visible injuries were observed on a known juvenile victim.
According to the complaint, during an interview, Joshua David Rebuck admitted to striking a juvenile victim with a one-inch by three-inch piece of wood.
The complaint states that during subsequent interviews, Grayce Elynne Sutter admitted she and Rebuck each struck two juvenile victims with a one-inch by three-inch piece of wood, leaving multiple bruises and markings consistent with being struck with a board.
Rebuck and Sutter were arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Jacqueline J. Mizerock at 2:40 p.m. on May 21, on the following charges:
– Endangering Welfare of Children – Parent/Guardian/Other Commits Offense, Felony 3 (two counts)
– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 1 (two counts)
– Harassment – Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary (two counts)
They were lodged in the Jefferson County Jail on $5,000.00 (10%) each monetary bail.
Rebuck was released on May 22 after posting a $500.00 surety bond.
Sutter remains lodged in the Jefferson County Jail.
Preliminary hearings are scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on June 9, with Judge Mizerock presiding.
