Punxsy Man Injured in Winslow Township Crash

WINSLOW TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Police say a local man was injured in a crash in Winslow Township on Wednesday.

According to police, around 5:37 p.m. on September 15, a one-vehicle crash occurred on Sportsman Dam Road just north of Reynlow Park Road.

Police say 79-year-old James P. Mellon, of Punxsutawney, was operating a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado traveling eastbound on Sportsman Dam Road when he failed to negotiate a left curve in the roadway. The vehicle then went off the right side of the road and struck a guide rail.

Mellon was wearing a seatbelt.

He suffered suspected minor injuries but was not transported.

The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.

Mellon was cited for a traffic violation.
