Punxsy Pizza: Pizza and Prevention – 21 Years of Giving

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. (EYT) – Celebrate National Pizza Month with the 21st Annual Punxsy Pizza & Prevention event starting Saturday, October 1, 2022!

The event, sponsored by Punxsy Pizza, located at 115 North Findley Street, promotes disaster prevention and introduces local volunteer firefighters to the pizza-eating public.

Volunteer firefighters will be delivering pizza every Saturday in October and getting to know the community.

$5.00 of every purchase of “The Chief” pepperoni pizza will be donated to the Punxsutawney Fire Department.

“The Chief” is a 12” x 24” pepperoni pizza featuring 18 huge slices and measuring two square feet for just $17.49 plus tax.

Scott Anthony, owner of Punxsy Pizza, told exploreJeffersonpa.com, “At its’ conception, this event was a way of commemorating the tragedy of 9/11. I needed to recognize our hometown heroes and all they do for us. The basic concept was a community event designed to promote disaster prevention & introduce the community to their volunteer firefighters.”

The timing of the event was moved from September 11th to October for logistical reasons. October is National Pizza Month, and the first full week of October is dubbed Fire Prevention Week.
