Punxsy Teen Injured in Crash on Route 36

A moving ambulance on it''s way to a crash site.YOUNG TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police say around 9:39 p.m. on November 30, a one-car accident occurred on North Main Street (State Route 36), south of Bish Road, in Young Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, a 2005 Ford Mustang, driven by a known, 16-year-old Punxsutawney male, was traveling northbound on Route 36; the teen driver lost control of the car, striking the embankment. It came to a final rest on the west side of the roadway.

The teen suffered suspected minor injuries and was transported to Punxsutawney Area Hospital for treatment.

He was using a seat belt.

A passenger – 19-year-old Stephen C. Defelice, of Rochester Mills – was using a seat belt and was not injured.

The 16-year-old driver was charged with a traffic violation.

The car sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.
