Punxsy Woman Accused of Barging into Bedroom, Assaulting Victim

PUNXSUTAWNEY BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) – Charges have been filed against a Punxsutawney woman who allegedly barged into a couple’s bedroom, slapped both victims, and then punched one of them.

Court documents indicate the Punxsutawney Borough Police Department filed criminal charges against 25-year-old Oriana Dian WhitmerOriana Dian Whitmer arrived at a known victim’s residence and, due to issues between Whitmer and the victim, was asked to pack up her belongings and leave. Whitmer then allegedly shoved the victim’s bedroom door open and got in the victim’s face.

The victim reported she told Whitmer three times to get out of the bedroom and leave her alone. She told police that Whitmer then got in her face again, slapped her, then struck her husband in the face. Whitmer then allegedly punched the victim in the eye, causing swelling. The victim then told Whitmer to leave the apartment, but she allegedly failed to do so, at which time the victim called 9-1-1 for police assistance in removing Whitmer from the residence, according to the complaint.

The following charges were filed against Whitmer through Magisterial District Judge Jacqueline J. Mizerock’s office on February 5:

– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
– Disorderly Conduct Engage In Fighting, Misdemeanor 3
– Disorderly Conduct Hazardous/Physical Offense, Misdemeanor 3
– Defiant Trespass Actual Communication To, Misdemeanor 3
– Harassment – Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary (two counts)

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on March 9, with Judge Mizerock presiding.
