Punxsy Woman Injured in Crash on Route 36

GASKILL TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Police say one woman was injured in a crash that occurred on State Route 36 last week.

According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, the accident happened around 7:35 p.m. on September 24 on State Route 36, in Gaskill Township, Jefferson County.

Police say 26-year-old Kaili M. Wolbert, of Punxsutawney, was operating a 2015 Dodge Caravan traveling east on State Route 36 when a deer entered the roadway in front of the vehicle and she was unable to avoid striking it.

Wolbert and her passengers, identified as 31-year-old Courtney L. O’Dell, of Punxsutawney, and 29-year-old Clarissa J. Beer, of Mayport, were using seat belts.

O’Dell suffered suspected minor injuries but refused transport.

Wolbert and Beer were not injured.

The vehicle was towed from the scene by Brosius Towing.

Jefferson County EMS and Big Run Fire Department also assisted at the scene.

The deer was found deceased along the eastern side of the roadway.
