Punxsy Woman Seriously Injured After Her SUV Crashes into Tree in Young Township

YOUNG TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A Punxsutawney woman was seriously injured on Monday afternoon after she lost control of her SUV and struck a tree in Young Township.

According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, the crash happened around 1:23 p.m. on Monday, November 28, on Harmony Road (State Route 310) and Crawfordtown Road, in Young Township, Jefferson County.

Police say 75-year-old Suzanne Z. Keener, of Punxsutawney, was traveling south when she lost control of her 2014 Chevrolet Equinox, veered off the roadway, and crossed Crawfordtown Road. The SUV then traveled down a hill and struck a tree.

Keener was flown to UPMC Altoona for suspected serious injuries, according to police.

She was using a seat belt.

The vehicle was towed from the scene by Brosius Towing Services.

Jefferson County EMS also assisted at the scene.

According to police, Keener was charged with a traffic violation.
