Punxsy Woman Who Allegedly Threatened to Kill Babysitter Waives Hearing

JEFFERSON CO., Pa. (EYT) – A Punxsutawney woman waived her hearing in court on Tuesday on charges for allegedly threatening to kill her babysitter.

Court documents indicate the following charge against 28-year-old Brianna Nicole Gummo was waived for court on Tuesday, January 11, 2022:

– Terroristic Threats W/ Int To Terrorize Another, Misdemeanor 1

The charge has been transferred to the Jefferson County Court of Common Pleas.

Gummo remains free on $1,000.00 unsecured bail.

Details of the case:

According to a criminal complaint, around 11:00 a.m. on November 18, Punxsutawney-based State Police were contacted by a known victim who reported an incident of terroristic threats.

According to the complaint, the victim told police she had been babysitting Brianna Nicole Gummo‘s children, but asked her husband to take the children back to Gummo’s residence because they would not stop crying. The victim reported that she also told Gummo she was going to call Children and Youth Services (CYS).

The complaint indicates the victim told police that when her husband was dropping off Gummo’s children, Gummo told him that if the victim contacted CYS, she was going to “kill her.” Gummo also reportedly stated she had a gun.

Police also spoke to the victim’s husband about the incident. He reportedly stated Gummo told him she had a gun and would kill the victim if she contacted CYS, according to the complaint.

Gummo was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge David B. Inzana at 8:30 p.m. on November 18, 2021.
