Punxsy Wrestlers Led By Neal and Bizousky

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. (EYT) — The District 4-9 3A Wrestling Pairings for this weekend’s tournament at Clearfield Area High School have been released by Chairman Randy Cathcart.

The action begins at 9:30 a.m. Saturday with the quarterfinals. The first-round consolations follow, then the semifinals, second-round consolations and third-round consolations.

The Parade of Champions and District 9 Hall of Fame will be done at 4 p.m. with the championship finals and consolation finals at 4:30 p.m.

Wrestling for all sessions will be done on two mats.

The top four finishers in each weight class qualify for the 3A Northwest Regional Tournament in Altoona March 3-4. A team trophy will also be awarded.

The Punxsy Chucks are led by their upper weights, 285-pound junior Alex Neal and at 220, Blaze Bizousky (18-5).

Neal is seeded first and Bizousky is seeded second.

At 106 pounds, sophomore Jacob Good (4-14) will wrestle St. Marys’ Tyler Herzing in the quaterfinals.

At 126 pounds, sophomore Jake Skarbek (11-12) is seeded fifth and will wrestle Selinsgrove sophomore Shawn Matthews, seeded fourth.

At 138 pounds, junior Caleb Bender (5-15) is No. 7 and will wrestle No. 2 Noah Supsic of Shikellamy in the quarters.

At 145, junior Zach May (0-17) will wrestle No. 2 Cameron Resch of St. Marys.

At 152 pounds, junior Stone Smith (12-12) and will wrestle Williamsport’s Anthony Robinson (12-5).

Junior Conner Giavedoni (14-10) is seeded fourth and will battle Williamsport’s Alec Dickey in the quarterfinals at 160.

At 170, senior Caleb Harvey (5-16) is seeded seventh and will tackle No. 2 Garrett Campbell of Selinsgrove.

At 182, senior John Mark Miller (4-6) is fifth and will wrestle Williamsport’s Nate Powley.

At 195, sophomore Jacob Shuckers (7-14) will wrestle Selinsgrove’s Blaise Zeiders in the quarters.

At 220, Bizousky (18-5) is seeded No. 2 and will take on DuBois’ Matt Starr.

At 285, Neal (17-7) is the top seed and will wrestle the winner of the match between Selinsgrove sophomore Aaron Hoke and Williamsport junior Dalton Kriner.
