Punxsy Woman Flown to UPMC Altoona Following Head-On Crash on Route 119

HENDERSON TWP., Pa. (EYT) – State Police say a Punxsutawney woman was flown to UPMC Altoona following a head-on collision that occurred on State Route 119 in Henderson Township early Thursday morning.

According to PSP Punxsutawney, around 6:53 a.m. on Thursday, April 5, 55-year-old Laura L. Allen, of Big Run, was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Malibu, traveling southbound on State Route 119, just south of Harness Lane. Police say she was traveling too fast for conditions and lost control of her vehicle.

The vehicle entered the northbound lane of Route 119, hitting a 2010 Toyota Corolla that was traveling north, driven by 59-year-old Judy Rosian, of Punxsutawney. Allen’s vehicle struck Rosian’s vehicle head-on.

Rosian was transported to UPMC Altoona by STAT MedEvac for suspected serious injuries.

Allen suffered minor injuries and was transported to Penn Highlands DuBois by Dusan Ambulance Service.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.

Both vehicles sustained disabling damage and had to be towed from the scene by Brosius Towing.

Big Run Area Volunteer Fire Company and Sykesville Ambulance Service also assisted at the scene.
