Ralph Ernest Siebach

Siebach, Ralph Obit PhotoRalph Ernest Siebach, age 81, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on Tuesday, May 3, 2016. He was living out his dream on his farm along the Red Bank Creek in Western Pennsylvania.

He was born May 21, 1934, in Gloversville, New York. He was the seventh child born to the late Rudolf and Frieda Lina (Oertel) Siebach. In school, he was active in music and sports and graduated from Gloversville High School in 1952. Four years later he received his commission as an officer in the US Army and a Bachelors of Science degree in Ceramic Engineering, from Alfred University.

He married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Muriel “Timmy” Young, on December 12, 1953; she survives him. Together they joyfully raised a family of seven children. His 42-year career was with PPG Industries. His responsibilities began as a tank engineer with Works 4 in Ford City, Pennsylvania, and included several years in Wichita Falls, Texas, managing the largest float glass plant in the world. He retired as Director of Purchasing at PPG headquarters in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. When a call to serve came to him from his Church, he considered it a call from God and in that Spirit of faith, he undertook his duties. He devotedly served in multiple Bishoprics, Stake Presidencies, Mission Presidencies, and as Temple President in Palmyra, New York. He loved to teach the Gospel.

Ralph is survived by six children; Christopher (Susan), James, Jeffrey (Kathy), Linda (Richard) Hartung, Jennifer (Gordon) Haight, and Benjamin (Natasha); 37 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Also living are two sisters, Eleanor Knight of Shelton, Washington, and Elizabeth Young of West Jordan, Utah. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 1 son, Michael Ralph Siebach; 1 granddaughter, Audrey Rose Siebach; 2 brothers, Henry Siebach and Martin Siebach; 2 sisters, Ruth Knight, and Miriam Nelson.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, May 6, 2016, from 6pm – 8pm, at the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Brookville PA, 15825. A second visitation will take place on Saturday, May 7, 2017, from 9:30am – 10:45am, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, corner of Route 36 and Maplevale Road in Brookville PA. A funeral service will immediately follow the second visitation, beginning at 11:00am and officiated by Bishop Raymond J. Hansen.

Ralph was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle. He is loved beyond words and is the most Christ-like person we know. Online condolences and other information may be found at www.mckinneydargy.com.
