Raymond A. DeFoor

1517613_profile_picRaymond A. DeFoor, 95, Ringgold, died Sunday, February 8, 2015, at Jefferson Manor Health Center.

He was born June 25, 1919, in Perry Township, a son of the late Camiel and Martha (Broechaeit) DeFoor.

He married the late Olive J. (Caylor) DeFoor of Ringgold, PA, on June 26, 1946. She preceded him in death on December 24, 2014.

He served in the U.S. Army during WWII as a Sergeant in the Anti-Aircraft Division.

Raymond was a member of Saints Cosmas and Damian Roman Catholic Church of Punxsutawney.

He worked for Paul Beatty Jewelers as a watchmaker/jeweler for many years and also worked as a bus driver in the Ringgold area for many years.

He enjoyed gardening, tending to his orchard, taking care of his bees, and making honey.

He was a social member of the Ringgold Area Volunteer Fire Company.

Raymond was the last remaining member of his family.

Surviving relatives include two sons, Donald DeFoor and wife Carol of Ringgold, PA, and Gary DeFoor of Utica, PA; two grandchildren, Jon DeFoor and Sherry Seibert and husband Shawn and their son Cole.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter Mary Ann DeFoor, and ten brothers and sisters.

Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, February 12, 2015, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, February 13, 2015, at the funeral home with Monsignor Joseph Riccardo officiating.

Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Punxsutawney.
