Rayne (L. Lee) Beatty

81a4307e-3350-4c20-8865-2468040ca32c[1]Rayne (L. Lee) Beatty, 85, of Kiantone Road, Jamestown, passed away January 20, 2016,surrounded by his family in his home from complications of hemochromatosis.

He was born March 31, 1930, in Punxsutawney, PA the son of the late Clarence and Isabel Limerick Beatty. He met the love of his life, the late Beatrice Mennetti, with whom he recently celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary in October, 2015.

Rayne was a member of the United States Army Ready Reserves from January 22, 1951 through January 21, 1954.

Rayne worked for over 36 years at the former Marlin Rockwell Company, retiring in 1987. In earlier years, Rayne worked with his father in carpentry.

His life membership include NRA, Falconer Rod and Gun Club, The Big Tree Sportsman Club and Celoron Rod and Gun Club. Rayne was a regular on the skeet and trap fields with many awards noting his drive for excellence. A life-long hunter, he and son Roger hunted most of the western states with much success.

Rayne and Bea were motorcycle enthusiasts, traveling from school days up until several years back. They toured the east coast to the Rocky Mountains and back home again for many years.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you for companionship of life-long friends Al DeLong, Tony Cordosi, along with all the other friends that stopped to visit. He is survived by daughters Debbie Beatty and Rick, of Jamestown and Andrea and husband Tom Windoft of Lakewood; son Roger and wife Deanna Beatty of Missoula Montana, as well as grandsons Benjamin Windoft of Shaker Heights, Ohio, Brock Windoft of Lakewood, NY; Andrew Beatty and wife Sara of Missoula; granddaughters Kelseigh and husband Dustin Hover of Missoula, and Miranda Blake of Phoenix, AZ, brother Russell Beatty and wife Ann Marie of KY, and sisters Carole Monosky of Punxsutawney and Elaine and husband Bill Setree of Rossiter, PA, along with many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Rayne was preceded in death by his wife Beatrice, on November 12, 2015, infant son, David Lee Beatty, brother Allen Beatty, and sisters Sally Patterson and Josephine Beatty. The funeral will be held at noon Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. Deacon Michael Lennon will officiate.

Friends will be received from 10am to noon on Thursday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice Chautauqua County, 20 W. Fairmount Ave., Lakewood NY 14750, to whom the family is humbly grateful for the care and compassion provided, or Kiantone Volunteer Fire Department, 2318 Stillwater Frewsburg Road, Jamestown, NY 14701.
