VENANGO CO., Pa. – The 14th Annual Soapbox Derby, sponsored by Venango Fatherhood Initiative, is set for July 9, in Oil City and July 23, in Franklin.
The event will take place on Central Avenue in Oil City, and Rocky Grove Avenue in Franklin.
It is open to ages 7 to 14.
Registration will start at 8:00 a.m. The race will start at 9:00 a.m.
Registration fees are as follows:
- $65.00 – includes a kit to build a car and entry in either the Oil City or Rocky Grove event for one racer
- $15.00 – per event/per racer if you already own a car
- The derby is a double elimination race
- Two racers may use the same car if they are not in the same age bracket ($15.00 for the additional racer)
- No refunds for cancellations due to inclement weather
All entrants will receive a t-shirt on the day of the derby.
Scholarships are available for those who cannot make the registration payment.
