Report of Shots Fired During Domestic Dispute Leads to Discovery of Stolen Vehicle

RIDGWAY TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Police say a vehicle that was stolen in DuBois was recovered in Elk County on Saturday following a report of shots fired during a domestic incident in Ridgway Township.

Around 12:54 a.m. on April 10, Ridgway-based State Police responded to a residence on Montmorenci Road in Ridgway Township for a report of shots fired during a domestic dispute.

Police say the suspect in the incident, identified as 30-year-old Timothy Bender, of Ridgway, fled into the woods behind the residence before their arrival at the scene.

Police then conducted a search of the area, and Bender was taken into custody without further incident.

According to police, an investigation into the incident found that Bender had allegedly stolen a vehicle in the city of DuBois and drove it to the location, where it was later recovered.

The victims of the incident are listed as a 74-year-old Ridgway man, a 74-year-old Ridgway woman, and a 21-year-old Bigler woman.

Court documents indicate the following charges were filed against Bender through Magisterial District Judge James L. Martin’s office on April 10:

– Harassment – Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary (two counts)
– Criminal Mischief – Damage Property, Summary (three counts)
– Disorderly Conduct Hazardous/Physical Offense, Summary

Police say Bigler was lodged in the Elk County Jail in lieu of unspecified bail.
