Researcher Discusses Effects of Obesity on B Cell Leukemia on November 8

CLARION, Pa. – Clarion University Translational Medicine Research Club will host Dr. Curtis Henry on November 8. He will present his research, “You Are What You Eat: The Impact of Obesity on Immunity and B-ALL Pathogenesis.”

The event begins at 2:00 p.m. in Grunenwald Center for Science and Technology, Room 122.

The presentation is free and open to the public.

Henry is an assistant professor in Emory University School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics. He is a member of the Cancer Cell Biology Research Program at Winship Cancer Institute. His research seeks to determine how chronic inflammation shapes hematopoiesis, immunity and leukemogenesis.

Results from these studies will be applied to improving therapeutic responses in at-risk populations, including children who are overweight, as well as obese and aged populations.
