Reynoldsville Teen Driver Cited Following Rollover Crash on Route 219

WASHINGTON TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Police say speed was a factor in a crash that occurred early Friday evening on State Route 219 in Washington Township.

According to police, the accident occurred around 5:31 p.m. on Friday, April 17, as a known 16-year-old male from Reynoldsville was driving a 2003 Ford Ranger, traveling south on State Route 219, in Washington Township, Jefferson County.

Police say the vehicle veered off the west side of the roadway due to traveling too fast for conditions. The vehicle then struck an embankment and overturned.

The teen was using a seat belt and was not injured.

The vehicle was towed from the scene by Zimmerman’s Towing.

Brockway Volunteer Hose Company and Brockway Area Ambulance Service assisted at the scene.

Police say the driver was determined to be at fault and was cited for a speed violation.
