Richard A. Myers, 82 of McKinley Health Center, formerly of Heathville, PA, died, Wednesday October 22, 2014 at McKinley Health Center in Brookville, PA.
Born December 21, 1931 in Heathville, Beaver Twp. Jefferson County, PA, he was the son of the late J. Lloyd Myers and Mabel Caroline Eakman Myers.
Richard attended elementary school in Heathville and graduated from Brookville High School. Richard was employed as an accountant at Gromley Chevrolet until his retirement in 1995. He was a member the United Methodist Church in Ohl, and played the piano for the church for over 60 years. Richard was also a member of the Shannondale Grange. He enjoyed hiking and picking blackberries.
Richard is survived by a brother Raymond Myers of Mt. Jewett, PA. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by three brothers, Donald, and infants, Ray and Harold, also two sisters, Doris and an infant Fay. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Furlong Funeral Home, Gregory K. Furlong FD, corner of Broad St. and First Ave., Summerville.
The service will be held at the Ohl United Methodist Church, on Saturday November 1, 2014 at 11 am.
Interment will be in the Ohl Cemetery, Beaver Twp., Jefferson County, PA. Per the family’s request Memorial donations may be made to the Ohl United Methodist Church or Laurelbrook Nursing Home.
