Richard Agro

Richard AgroRichard Agro, 80 of Harriger Hollow Road Brookville, PA, died Friday July 24, 2015 at his home.

Born January 8, 1935 in Baltimore MD, he was the son of the late Louis T. and Grace Dagler Agro.
Richard was married to Nira A. Wright, (the love of his life), on April 19, 1952 at St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Baltimore MD. They were married for 63 years.

Richard was a union carpenter working out of Local 947 until his retirement in 1997.

He was inducted into Maryland Boxing Hall of Fame under the “Amateur Boxing Category” on November 29, 1992 – Veteran Boxers Association International Ring 101.

He was an avid golfer and loved his golfing vacations in Myrtle Beach, S.C. with his family for many years. He loved spending times with his youngest grand-daughter Isabella who always picked wild flowers for her Poppi. Richard also loved his cats and dogs, he rescued alot of animals in his lifetime. Richard was of the Catholic faith.

Along with his wife, Richard is survived by a son; L. Michael Agro of Clymer, PA, two daughters; Nira Agro of Brookville, Debra Petak of Brockway, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers, John and Louis Agro, and three sisters; Esther Moran, June Beale, and Dolores Agro.

Arrangements are being handled by the Furlong Funeral Home, Gregory K. Furlong FD, corner of Broad St. and First Ave., Summerville.
