Richard E. Capelle, 47, of Marienville, PA, died Sunday, March 5, 2017 at his home after a short battle with cancer.
Born March 30, 1969 in Oakdale, PA, he was the son of the late Victor R. Capelle Sr. and Charlotte M. Hughes Capelle; she survives in Bulger, PA.
On April 30, 2011, he married the former Jody L. Thomas in Vowinckel, PA; she survives.
Mr. Capelle was a 1987 graduate of West Allegheny High School and he was certified in HVAC. He owned and operated Rich’s Heating & Cooling for over 20 years.
He was of the Methodist faith and was a member of the Marienville Rod & Gun Club.
As an outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was an avid Steeler’s fan, and loved socializing and visiting with people.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two daughters, Samantha F. Proctor and her husband, Garrett, of Erie, PA and Shelby J. Bradybaugh, of Penn, PA.
Other survivors include three brothers, Victor R. Capelle Jr., Bradley W. Capelle, and Anthony M. Capelle; two sisters, Gwendolen L. Wright and Gina M. Bothell; and his mother-in law, Georgeanna Thomas, of Brookville.
Mr. Capelle was preceded in death by his father and father-in-law.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 from 10am to 2pm and 5:30pm to 6:30pm at Furlong Funeral Home, 140 Cherry Street, Marienville, PA.
Funeral services will be held at 6:30pm at the funeral home with the Rev. Dan Richter officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Marienville Rod & Gun Club or to Furlong Funeral Home to help defray funeral expenses.
