Richard E. Steiner, 63, of Miola died unexpectedly in the emergency room at the U.P.M.C. North West Hospital on December 26, 2014.
He was born in Brookville on May 3, 1951 to the late Edward D. and Rita M. Judy Steiner. Rich was a 1970 graduate of North Clarion High School and a 1971 graduate of Dubois Electrical School, known now as Triangle Tech.
Rich was married to the former Marlene Jordan on June 8, 1974, and she survives. He was an Electrician, owner of Steiner electric for many years and also taught at Triangle Tech in DuBois. Rich worked for Sperry, Miles Development, and then retired from Clark Electric. Rich was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Clarion and also a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus. In his younger years he was active in the Jycees and the Boy Scouts.
Rich shared an interest in Allis Chalmers Tractors with his uncle, Jim Steiner. He founded the Clarion Model Rail Road Club and was very active until present.
He is survived by his wife, Marlene Steiner, a son, Steven Steiner and wife Jennifer of Columbus, Ohio and a daughter, Elizabeth Steiner of New Bern, North Carolina, three siblings, Elaine Schmader and husband Bill of Lucinda, Sam Steiner and wife Nancy of Shippenville, and Traci Steiner of North Little Rock, Arkansas, a number a nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews, and his dog, Midnight.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today, December 29, 2014, at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home, 638 Wood Street, Clarion, with Christian Wake Service to be held at 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2014, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Clarion with the Rev. Monty Sayers pastor presiding.
Interment will be in the Miola Cemetery. Memorials and donations can be made to the Clarion Model Rail Road Club c/o Bob Hartle, 851 Reed Road, Clarion PA, 16214.
