Richard Eugene Bennett, 87 of Punxsutawney, passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2015 at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
Mr. Bennett was born August 26, 1927 in Indiana Co., the son of the late Raleigh Bennett and Verna (Sullinger) Bennett.
He is survived by his wife Bernadine (Emert) Bennett of Punxsutawney. They were married October 8, 1948.
He was a WWII Veteran of the US Navy. Mr. Bennett was a member of the Woodland Avenue United Methodist Church and the Odd Fellows. He was retired from Penelec.
In addition to his wife Bernadine, he is survived by his children; Nadine Raffensberger and husband John, Richard Bennett and wife Lynn and Bonnie Peters, three grandchildren; Troy Raffensberger, Emrys Bennett, Brogan Peters, one great grandson; Gage Raffensberger, one sister; Margaret Heckman and one brother; Thomas Bennett.
At Mr. Bennett’s request all arrangements are private.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Woodland Avenue United Methodist Church or the No Kill Animal Shelter of the donor’s choice.
