Richard I. “Dick” Doran

Doran Richard DickRichard I. “Dick” Doran, 82, of 779 Brandy Camp Road, Kersey, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, July 29, 2015, at the St. Vincent’s Hospital in Erie.

He was born November 11, 1932, in Brookville, PA, son of the late Robert and Martha Sprankle Doran. He was a graduate of Brookville High School and had resided in the Kersey area for 55 years. He retired as a tool and die maker from the Keystone Carbon Company in 1995.

On November 1, 1952, in the Trinity Episcopal Church in Brookville, he married Arlene Mae Taylor, who survives. He is also survived by three daughters, Gloria “Sis” Klaiber of Kersey, Suzanne P. Huey of Kersey, Jo Anne Keller and her husband Thomas of Kersey; six sons, John Doran and his wife Cindy of Kersey, Thomas Doran and his wife Jane of Mack, CO, Pat Doran and his wife Patti of St. Marys, Robert Doran of Ft. Worth, TX, James Doran and his wife Grace of Kersey, and Donald Doran of Columbus, OH; 15 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and by a brother, J. Robert Doran of Sigel, PA.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Angela Huey.

Dick was a member of the St. Agnes Episcopal Church. He enjoyed traveling, bowling, hunting, fishing, antique cars, humor and being humorous with others, and he especially enjoyed being with his family.

There will be no visitation.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service to be held in the St. Agnes Episcopal Church on Friday, August 7, 2015, at 11:00 AM, with the Rev. Alan Coudriet officiating. Burial will be in the Earleyville Cemetery in Kersey.
