Jack Sodeman Jr made the best of it by sweeping area sprint car action with wins at Lernerville Speedway Friday and Mercer Raceway Park on Saturday. Sodeman bested a season-high 31 cars Friday for his fourth win of the season and pad his season point lead.

Canadian invader Mat Williamson continued his big block modified dominance at Lernerville on Friday with another convincing victory. Michael Norris (late models) and Aaron Easler (sportsman) both scored their first wins of the season Friday.

This Friday the modifieds will be the star of the show as Lernerville presents Modified Mania. The big block modifieds will headline the show with a two thousand to win feature. The RUSH crate modifieds and the Renegade modifieds will round out the card for this special.

Sodeman continued his winning weekend at Mercer Raceway on Saturday by dominating the twenty-five lap sprint car feature. The pair of wins for Sodeman made a great birthday present for his father Jack Sodeman Sr and also put Sodeman in the point lead at both tracks.

This Saturday Mercer Raceway will present another regular seven division show. Also on the card Saturday will be bike races for the kids. All children participating are required to wear helmets.

The long anticipated return of 410 Sprint Cars to Thunder Mountain Speedway in Brookville will take place this Friday. The event has been dubbed “The 1st annual King of Wings & Late Models”

Most all of the area’s top sprint car teams are expected to compete in the event along with a few outsiders from the central part of the state. With 2,500 to win on the line look for a strong field of cars. The 305 sprint cars that compete at the track weekly will also be in action with an increased purse.

The late models will be in action and going for a $1,000 winner’s check. With three of the most popular classes in the area in action this should be a great show with racing scheduled for 7:30.

Sharon Speedway was off this past weekend but will resume regular racing this Saturday with a regular six division show headlined by the big block modifieds. Saturday will also be Twin-State Auto Racing Club night and there will be power wheel races for the kids.

One of the biggest Sprint Car races of the season took place over the weekend at Tony Stewart’s Eldora Speedway in Ohio over the weekend. Defending World of Outlaws champion Donny Schatz won a thriller Saturday night and took home $50,000 for his win.
