Ricky Lee Howard

Ricky Lee Howard, 59, Punxsutawney, died Sunday, March 18, 2018, at home.

He was born April 18, 1958, in Punxsutawney, a son of Louise (Kotula), who survives, and the late Bernard Howard.

He was a 1976 graduate of the Punxsutawney High School.

On July 14, 1979, he married Connie (Burkett) Howard, who survives.

Ricky worked for Berlin Metals during high school. After graduation, he worked for additional companies throughout his life which include Roberts and Shaffer Construction Company, Mears Coal Company, and Doverspike Brothers Coal Company. He and his brother started R&R Pro-Clean and he also worked part-time at the Punxsutawney Community Center.

Ricky loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing with the guys and family. He loved hanging out at the Whiz.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two sons, Nathan Howard and Jason Howard, both of Punxsutawney; two brothers, Randy Howard and wife Regina of Punxsutawney and Scott Howard and wife Holly of Punxsutawney; a sister Kathy Walker and husband James of Reynoldsville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother Timothy Howard, and his grandparents Michael and Helen Kotula and Thomas and Clara Howard.

In keeping with Ricky’s wishes, there will be no visitation. There will be a celebration of his life held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made, in memory of Ricky, to the Punxsutawney Community Center or to VNA Family Hospice of Indiana, PA.
