Rita M. Judy Steiner

OI670720116_SteinerRitaCroppedRita M. Judy Steiner, 90, a lifelong resident of Lucinda passed away September 27, 2014 at Jefferson Manor in Brookville, after a period of declining health.

Born on August 2, 1924 in Lucinda she was the daughter of William and Melanie Schill Judy.

She attended St. Joseph School in Lucinda and graduated from Clarion High School in 1942.

On April 3, 1945 she was married to Edward D. Steiner who preceded her in death on April 23, 1992.

She was a member of St. Joseph Church and Rosary Society in Lucinda.

Rita was a home maker and enjoyed spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed reading and quilting with her friends.

She is survived by a daughter Elaine Schmader and husband William of Lucinda; a son Richard E. Steiner and Marlene of Miola; a son Samuel J, Steiner and wife Nancy of Shippenville; and a daughter Teresa (Traci) Steiner of North Little Rock, AR. She is survived by a brother Robert Judy and wife Nancy of Dallas TX and a sister Kathyren Gatesman of Lucinda. Grandchildren surviving include: Kimberly Wells of Eighty Four, PA; Matthew Schmader of Lucinda; Scott Schmader of Lucinda; Cynthia Steiner of Cleveland, OH; Jayme McKay of Clarion; Steve Steiner of Columbus; and Elizabeth “Liz” Steiner of New Bern NC.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Edward and an infant granddaughter. Rita was also preceded in death by her siblings: Louise Lander; Evelyn Eiswerth; Clyde Judy; Blanche Durnell; Betty Esterlin; Paul Judy; Ethel Ashton; Roy Judy; and George Judy.

Friends will be received on Monday, September 29, 2014 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Faller Funeral Home, Inc in Fryburg. A parish vigil service will be held on Monday at 3:45 p.m. in the funeral home.

Mass of a Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at St. Joseph Church in Lucinda with Rev. Joseph Czarkowski Pastor as the celebrant.

Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery following the mass.

The family asks that donations in Rita’s name be made to St. Joseph Bell Fund.
