Robbery in McCalmont Township Leads to Pursuit, Ends in Crash

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. (EYT) – Police say a report of a robbery in McCalmont Township on Monday led to a pursuit of the suspects that ended in a crash in Rose Township.

Around 11:15 a.m. on Monday, January 25, Punxsutawney-based State Police responded to a residence on Main Street in McCalmont Township, Jefferson County, for a report of a robbery.

Police say it was discovered that two male suspects forced entry into a known victim’s home, assaulted her, and took multiple items before fleeing the scene.

According to police, the suspects were located, they continued to flee from law enforcement and then crashed along State Route 36 in Rose Township.

Both suspects were then LifeFlighted for treatment of injuries they suffered in the crash.
