Robert M. “Bob” Byers, 68, of Mahaffey, passed away Friday, Sept. 26, 2014, in Pittsburgh.
He was born Feb. 28, 1946, in Punxsutawney, and was a son of Richard and Emma (Wolfe) Byers.
Bob was a U.S. Navy veteran of four years during the Vietnam era. He was employed as a diesel mechanic for Beckwith Machinery.
He enjoyed archery hunting for deer and bear.
Bob is survived by his wife of 46 years, Margo (Marguerite Masse’), formerly of Rhode Island; daughter Darlene; son “Bobby” Robert, married to Melissa; five grandchildren: Caitlin, Megan, Thomas, Ethan and Emma; his mother, Emma Byers, of Mahaffey; a brother, Dennis “Den” Byers, of Mahaffey; and a sister, Carol Forberger, of Ohio.
Bob was preceded in death by his father, Richard, and his twin brother, Richard “Dick” Byers.
His family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Waldron Funeral Home, Mahaffey. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Myron Wattenphul officiating.
Interment will follow at Mahaffey Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association.
