Robert Guy Mohney

Robert Guy Mohney, 91, of DuBois, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2015, at Penn Highlands DuBois.

Born March 21, 1923, in Emerickville, Pa., he was the son of the late Cilton M. Mohney and Vernatte Snyder Mohney.
Robert married Betty L. Pifer in 1955. She preceded him in death.

He is survived by a step-son, Clyde (Skeets) Gearhart and wife Martha of Fruitland Park, Florida; nine grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and his wife of 55 years, he was preceded in death by a step-son, Eugene Gearhart; a granddaughter, Robin Gearhart; three brothers, Michael, Leonard and Eugene Mohney; and two sisters, Jessie Eckman and Martha Brothers.

He was a veteran of World War II, having served as a technician fifth grade in the U.S. Army.

Robert was a 1941 graduate of Brookville High School, and he retired as a union iron worker after 40 years of service.

He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Oklahoma, Pa., the United Iron Workers Union Local
No. 3 Pittsburgh, the Coudersport Consistory and the DuBois Veterans of Foreign War and a 50-year member of the Garfield Lodge 559 F&AM of DuBois.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 13, 2015, at the Bernard P. Snyder Funeral Home in Reynoldsville. A Masonic service will be conducted on Friday at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015, at the funeral home, with the Rev. James Steingass officiating.
Interment will take place at Lakelawn Memorial Park in Reynoldsville.
