Member_146773[1]Joe Robert London, 63, of Irishtown, passed away Wednesday May 20, 2015 at his residence after a lengthy illness.

Born December 7, 1951 in Punxsutawney, he was the son of the late Joe B. and Della (Berringer) London, Joe was the owner of J London Trucking Inc. and J. London Long Haul LLC of Olanta, PA. Prior to starting his business, he worked for over 20 years in construction in Northern Virginia as an equipment operator and Supervisor.

Joe is an active member of the Curwensville VFW Post #842, the Curwensville Loyal Order of Moose Family Center #268 and the Curwensville American Legion Post #505.

Surviving is his wife of 44 years Bernadette “Bernie” (McKeown) London, 2 sons; Joseph “Hondo” London and his partner Genia Tkacik of Clearfield, and Daniel London and his wife Leslie (Hudson) London of Walltown; 2 daughters: Amy London and Megan London both of Grampian; 3 grandchildren Brent, Brylee, and Bradley; a sister Vicky (London) Cochran and her husband Donald Cochran of Big Run; and 2 brothers; Michael “Curly” London and his wife Julie of Oliveburg, PA, and Jeffrey London and his wife Gale of Cortland, OH.

Funeral Services for Joe London will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville, on Saturday May 23, 2015 at 2 PM, with Rev. Fr. Mark J. Mastrian officiating. Interment will be in the Oaklawn Cemetery in Cloe, PA.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday May 22 from 2 to 8 PM, and again on Saturday from 12 Noon until time of services at 2.

The family suggests contributions be made to either St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142 Memphis, TN 38148 or Shriners Children’s Hospital 1645 West 8th Street Erie, PA 16505.
