Robert “Robbie” Lee Himes Jr.

Robert “Robbie” Lee Himes Jr., of Brookville, PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at the Jefferson Manor in Brookville, PA.

He was born on June 6, 1947 to Robert Lee Sr. and Loleta (Motter) Himes in Brookville, PA; Robert Sr., survives him, his mother preceded him in passing. Robbie served his country honorably as a member of the United States Army, he served active duty during the Vietnam War.

Throughout the years, Robbie kept in touch with his military comrades, meeting up periodically. He enjoyed going out for coffee with his family and friends. He spent years as a truck driver and then worked with Penn Dot as a heavy equipment operator until the end of his career. He was a member of the Brookville American Legion and once a member of the Summerville Fire Company. Robbie loved riding his Goldwing motorcycle and his UTV. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling.

In addition to his father, Robert is survived by seven children; Joseph (Evy) Himes, Pamela Skinner, Christina (Dennis) Freeman, Deanna (James) Ishman, Robert Lee III (Carisa) Himes, David Himes, and James (Nichole) Himes; five siblings; Gerald (Shirley) Himes, Michael (Karen) Himes, Samuel (Kathy Rahuba) Himes, Stephen (Carol) Himes, and Mary (Richard “Lee”) Greeley; nineteen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, January 14, 2019, from 2 – 4pm and 6 – 8pm, at the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home ltd, 345 Main St, Brookville, PA 15825. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, January 15, 2019, also at the funeral home, beginning at 11:00am. Interment will take place at Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Eldred Twp., Jefferson Co., PA.
