Robert Wayne Gourley, 66, of Punxsutawney, passed away May 21, 2023, at his home.
He was born on December 9, 1956, in Punxsutawney, the son of the late Donald and Henrietta (Kanouff) Gourley.
Retired, Robert worked as a driller for Perry Drilling.
In his free time, he enjoyed tinkering in the garage, talking endlessly with anyone that stopped by, gardening, hunting and spending time with his grandson, Cameron.
He is survived by his two sons, Robert D. Gourley of Pittsburgh and Joseph M. Gourley and his wife Raylene of Punxsutawney; a grandson, Cameron Gourley; four brothers: William Gourley and his wife Cathy of Youngsville, PA, John Gourley and his wife Lisa of Punxsutawney, Larry Gourley and Dave Gourley of Punxsutawney; seven sisters: Donna Whitesell of Trade City, PA, Martha Painter of Glen Campbell, Linda Passmore and her husband Gary of Indiana, Debbie, Judy, Robin and Pam Gourley.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Gourley and Ronnie Gourley.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc.; a memorial service will follow at 4 p.m. Burial will be in Mahoning Union Cemetery.
