Ronald E. Johnson, 76, DuBois, PA, died Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at UPMC Passavant Hospital due to complications from cancer surgery.
Ron was born December 12, 1944, in DuBois to Richard and Daisy (Long) Johnson. They preceded him in death.
Ron was a graduate of the DAHS class of 1962. In 1973, Ron married Ruth Wells. He worked and lived in DuBois as a mechanic.
Ron loved playing his guitar and spending time with his camp buddies. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Falls Creek Eagles and the Penfield Firemen’s Club.
In addition to his wife, Ron is survived by his children, Michael Johnson, Brenda (David) Draskavich, Mark (Connie) Johnson (All of Florida), and Ronda Shaffer, DuBois; four grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter, all of which he loved dearly.
In addition to his wife, children, and grandchildren, Ron is survived by four siblings, Shirly Cleary, Joyce Penvose, Sandi Kelege, and Denny Johnson; several nieces and nephews; and his best friend, Glen Shaffer.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Mel Johnson; and three sisters, Doris Frantz, Phylis Shirokey, and Donna Chittister.
A Service of Remembrance will be held Saturday, June 26, 2021, at 11 a.m. from the Christ Lutheran Church with Pastor John Miller officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Adamson Funeral Chapel and Crematorium.
Memorial donations may be made to the organization of the donor’s choice.
