Ronald H. Geer Sr.

Ronald H. Geer Sr., “Ron” age 60 of Mahaffey, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2015 at Punxsutawney Area Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Kittanning on August 18, 1955 a son of the late Raymond and Loretta (McGinnis) Geer.

Ron is survived by his wife Frances (Wineberg) Geer of Mahaffey, his children; Ronald Geer, Jr. and wife Katie of Erie, Ken Geer of Portland, Oregon, Richard Anderson and wife Leah of Clymer, Christa Geer and Cory Geer both of Mahaffey. Ron was also the loving grandfather of nine grandchildren; Brenden, Chase, Bryanna, Emma, Avabelle, Zane, Richard Jr., Neveah and Kamdyn. He is also survived by seven siblings; Don Geer and wife Cindy of Curwensville, Bob Geer and wife Barbara, Linda Turner and husband Jim all of Mahaffey, Pam Brady and husband Ron of LaJose, Carol Bennett of Punxsutawney, Robin Srock of Pittsburgh, Hope Curry and husband Chris of Mahaffey along with many nieces and nephews.

Ron took great pride in working for Students Transportation of America where he transported children.

He was also a lifetime member of the Community Volunteer Fire Co. of Mahaffey.

He was also Vice President of the Susquehanna Valley Rod and Gun Club.

He loved hunting and fishing with his family. Friends will be received Tuesday, December 15, from 10:30 am until 3 pm time of service at the Waldron Funeral Home in Mahaffey.

A funeral service will be held at 3 pm with Rev. Jerry Spencer officiating.

Interment will follow at Banner Ridge Cemetery with honors accorded by the Community Volunteer Fire Company of Mahaffey.
