Ronald “Ron” L. Cook

Ronald “Ron” L. Cook, 67, of Brookville, PA, passed away surrounded by family at his home during the evening hours of Sunday, October 24, 2021.

He was born on May 15, 1954, to the late Robert Eugene and Mary K. (Hindman) Cook in Brookville.

Ron graduated from Brookville High School with the Class of 1972.

He married Marjorie “Margie” Ann Smith on October 1, 1976, at the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Brookville and they shared forty-five loving years of marriage; Margie survives him.

Ron worked for Galbraith’s Furniture Store in Brookville, which at the time involved work in the Galbraith Funeral Home as well. He also worked as an insurance salesman for Aflac for many years and retired in 2018 as a driver for the Area Transit Authority.

Ron had a strong faith and attended Stanton United Methodist Church in Stanton, PA.

Ron was an incredibly happy and positive person, who always had a joke or smile to contribute to any situation.

He loved the many people in his life, his family especially, but he also had a love for his friends, who he enjoyed spending time with, especially over morning coffee.

Ron loved watching sports especially his local team, the Brookville Raiders, as well as Penn State and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Along with sporting events, Ron loved tailgate parties, which were a combination of two of his favorite things, sports and spending time with family and friends.

Ron enjoyed listening to his oldies music. Ron also loved to travel, and the uplifting spirit he carried with him everywhere will be dearly missed.

In addition to his wife, Ron is survived by three children; Kristen (Kevin Motter) Cook; Courtney (Michael) Forsythe; Kimberly (Jason) Hollobaugh; four grandchildren; Clayton Cook; Colt Forsythe; Crue Forsythe; Cameron McGrail; and three siblings; Donald (Cindy) Cook; Gindy (Wayne) Johnston; and Molly (“Hip”) Reed.

In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in passing by one brother: Herbie Cook.
