Rosalie “Rose” McKinney

Rosalie “Rose” McKinney, 97, of Tokarcik Lane Brockway, PA, died on Thursday, February 22, 2018, at Highland View Health Care Center in Brockway.

Born on June 6, 1920, in Butte, Montana; she was the daughter of the late Percy and Florence Baldwin Roberts. She was married to John A. McKinney and he preceded her in death in 1986.

Rose was a homemaker and a member of the Lighthouse Community Church, where she served on the Church Board, the Social Committee and as a Communion Steward. Rose enjoyed crafts, reading and coloring.

She is survived by a daughter Agnes Hoover of Brockway; two sons: Rev. Dr. Victor (Barbara) Baxter of Brockport and Richard Baxter of Brockway; seven grandchildren: Vicki (Cory) Jacobs, Rosalie Lynn (Terry) Crawford, Tim (Karen) Baxter, Robin Brinkley, Darla (Tim) Elder, John (Amy) Baxter and Jamie Hoover; 13 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and her husband she is also preceded in death by a daughter in law Elsie Baxter, a son in law James Hoover, a great-granddaughter Grace Brinkley; two sisters: Toni Hellwig and Marie Dinsmore; and three brothers: Al Roberts, Chuck Roberts and Mitch Pesikan.

Calling hours will be on Sunday, February 25, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway; and on Monday, February 26, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Lighthouse Community Church also in Brockway. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Rev. Dr. Victor Baxter officiating. Committal prayers and burial will follow in the Beechtree Cemetery.

Although flowers are appreciated, memorial donations to the Lighthouse Community Church 732 Main Street Brockway, PA 15824 or the charity of the donors choice are preferred.
